Why or how did you pick your major in the Department of Crop Sciences?

I chose Crop Agribusiness mainly because of my farm background. I wanted to learn more about growing crops, as I plan to return home to farm and sell seed when I graduate.

What is your favorite part of being a student in the Department of Crop Sciences?

I enjoy the people I meet and the knowledge I have acquired as a student in Crop Sciences. My experiences here have been second to none.

Tell us a little bit of what do you do outside of classes?

I thoroughly enjoy working outdoors. I am very active on my family’s farm, helping in every possible aspect. I am also a seed dealer, something which I started when I was 15, and plan to continue once I graduate.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

I plan to return to my family’s farm in Southern Illinois where we raise corn, soybeans, wheat, hay, and cattle. I also plan to continue selling seed on the side, something which I enjoy greatly.

What is one thing you want people to know about being an undergraduate student in the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois?

Being an undergraduate student in the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois is an amazing experience. The professors here are the leaders in the industry, and the people are second to none.
