Why or how did you pick your major in the Department of Crop Sciences?

I picked my major because I loved sciences and was always fascinated with plants and how they grow.

What is your favorite part of being a student in the Department of Crop Sciences?

My favorite part about being in the Department of Crop Sciences is the tight knit community. As a smaller department we are able to connect with each other and the professors more. This makes classes more enjoyable and makes it easier to learn.

Tell us a little bit of what do you do outside of classes?

Outside of class I serve as the President of FarmHouse Fraternity as well as being involved in many groups on campus. I am involved in Collegiate Farm Bureau, Field and Furrow, and some other political organizations.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

I am unsure of my plans after graduation but I plan to look for a job in the seed development or crop protection industry.

What is one thing you want people to know about being an undergraduate student in the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois?

Being an undergraduate student in Crop Sciences is very rewarding. The opportunities, networking, and scholarships are just amazing.
